This Thursday: Family Crew Night - 6:30pm – 8pm – Thurs May 25th
Our semi-annual showcase and celebration of student work. Come one, come all. Dessert potluck. (This event will be preceded by an orientation for our new students from 5:30-6:30pm.)

Staffing Update for Next Fall:
Ms Doyle will be taking a leave next year, and hoping to return for the 2018-19 school year. We will be interviewing candidates for this position on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 31st. If you are interested in participating, please let Mr. Pierce know.
You can expect to learn more about crews for next year before this Thursday.

Final Words begin TODAY. Please be quiet coming and going in the Great Space during Final Word. Each grade level has a designated time to attend so that everyone will have an opportunity to see several. When underclassmen are invited to see a particular seniors’ talk, they will come and sit in a designated row, they should arrive one speaker early and return to class after the designated person as spoke.

At next School Meeting, during Movin’ On Up, please keep bringing the love, but please do not stand on your chairs so folks in the back can still see.
Blunt Youth Radio Project is seeking new members for our year-round, free journalism and media production program. We are having an open house June 19, Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at our broadcast home: WMPG on the USM Portland Campus. The station's address is 92 Bedford St.
Sophomores and Juniors
1) The deadline to sign up for fall college classes at USM or SMCC is this Friday May 26th. See Ms. Doyle or Mr. Hale FMI. Introduction to Sociology and College Algebra are the two SMCC courses that will be offered on our campus on Wednesday afternoons next fall.

Summer Opportunities:
10th-12th graders: Interested in a paid internship at the Portland Public Library. Apply by this Friday. The opportunity is specifically intended to attract more diversity into the library and information fields.
Free SAT Prep Course this summer through Let’s Get Ready at Deering, starting 6/15. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-8:30. See Ms. Doyle to sign up or go to
See Mr. Hale or Ms. Doyle to apply for the Gateway to Opportunity summer program. Get job skills, job training and get paid $10.68 an hour. To be eligible, you must receive free or reduced lunch or any other type of public assistance.  The program will run from Monday, June 26th – Thursday, August 3rd from 10:00 – 3:30 Monday – Thursday.  Students need to be available for the duration of the program.
