Final Q2 report cards will be sent out later this week.

Spring conferences are coming up soon on Tuesday, March 14th (4-8pm) and Wednesday, March 15th (3-6pm). Please connect with your child’s crew advisor to set up a time to meet. Once again, parents will have the opportunity to raise a “crucial question” or two that that they would like discussed as part of the conference following your child’s presentation of work. Please submit any “crucial question” you would like discussed at the upcoming conferences here by Monday, March 13th at 8am. Thanks.

All are invited to our next PAG meeting, a week from this Tuesday, March 7th (5:30-7pm) in the CBHS library or over Zoom. We will be learning from Grace Valenzuela and Maureen Clancy about how to better connect with our multilingual families as well as reviewing teacher grants and discussing the Math Cup. Here are notes from our last meeting. (Thanks Eliza)

Are you pretty good in math? Do you have friends who are? Do you work for an organization where numbers are important? That is STEM-oriented?  Then it’s time to put together a team of current or former mathletes and compete with and among CBHS’s finest for Eternal Math Glory in the…..

Junior Parents:  We need you!!!  As teachers and students prepare for their Junior Journey to  Schoodic Institute on 4/10-4/13, families play an important role.

Here’s how you can help:

Be a chaperone–The JJ trip to the Schoodic Institute is sure to be a memory maker. Come along!  Junior teachers are looking for several parent chaperones.

Donate supplies– From flashlights to toiletries, there will be some items that juniors will need to make the trip fun and comfortable.

Donate food– We will need donations of lunch and snack items.  Teachers will go shopping for food at BJs.  Gift card donations to BJs will help ensure a successful shopping trip.

Ready to help?  Soon you will be sent a Sign-Up Genius page with opportunities for you to help play an active role in making the Junior Journey a success.

Hannaford Cards

Help me reach the goal of 10 new Hannaford card users in February---I need four more people!! Email me for a gift card from Hannaford that supports CBHS! This fundraiser does not cost you anything & I promise--it is easy!! Here are the details:

Hannaford gives 5% back to CBHS's Parent Advisory Group (PAG) from all your grocery shopping using this gift card! You get 100% of the money you put on the card for your grocery shopping needs, and PAG gets 5%---Win, Win! Please consider getting a gift card for each member of your household who shops at Hannaford--each card can hold up to $500.

The cards can be used at any Hannaford store in the northeast, and they make great gifts for family, friends, students in college, new parents/homeowners, etc and/or consider purchasing one & donating to a local non-profit (Neighbors In Need, Greater Portland Family Promise, etc).

Your card can be used continuously by “reloading” it each month (or as needed, i.e. every other month) through PAG. I will send you a reminder email around the 20th of each month, you send me your funds and around the 1st, your card will be reloaded & ready to use! The next reload/new card order will be March 1st.

Here's how to get a new card:

1. Email me the amount you want loaded, your name & mailing address to: fundraiser@cbhsfamily.org.

2. Send me a check made out to "CBHS-PAG" to:

     Cheryl Denis

      21 Wendy Way

      Portland, ME 04103

OR---

Venmo me at Cheryl Denis (@CherylSDenis, the picture is of my bitmoji saying, “Eat Your Greens!”) with a note that you are ordering a new card.

3. I will send out an email around March 1st to everyone when the funds have been loaded. (New cards will be mailed out when I have received your funds and the reload is complete.)
