This report is a summary of data, findings, and
recommendations resulting from a twelve-month review conducted by the
Great Schools Partnership (see Appendix A for more detailed information)
of Casco Bay High School’s organizational structures, curriculum, and
instructional practices. Global Best Practices—a comprehensive,
researchbased, school-improvement framework (see Appendix B for more
detailed information)—was used to structure and guide the review
process. The evidence collected between March 2010 and December 2010
includes (1) interviews with students, (2) interviews with teachers, (3)
discussions with the school leadership team and principal, (4)
attendance at and observations of school meetings and special events,
(5) classroom observations, (6) findings from document analyses, (7)
student-achievement and -demographic data, and (8) a faculty-completed
self-assessment using Global Best Practices.
