Headline News

We look forward to seeing you at conferences THIS Tuesday or Wednesday to review how your child is doing in school and to learn more about what is going on at CBHS this year. Please check in with your child’s crew advisor if you have not yet confirmed a time. In an attempt to increase the substance and value of conferences for all participants, we are going to try two new elements this fall.

1) A ten minute pre-conference with you and your child prior to your scheduled conference. Details about how this works were sent in an e-mail last week (or ask your child).

2) For the first time, we will be discussing a “crucial question” that you raise. Please submit your crucial question in advance through this link here - or bring it to the conference.

Wednesday is an 11:30 student dismissal for professional development.

A week from Tuesday, 11/14 is our next Parent Advisory Group meeting. All are invited. Our parent educational topic will be: helping your teen manage stress and anxiety. Our guests will include the new PPS Director of Social and Emotional Learning, Dr. Brian Cavanaugh, as well as our own social worker, Beth Babcock. We will also be discussing the 11/18 Arts and Music Fest!

The Spread the Love x-block had created an interactive domestic violence awareness poster, to educate and provide support surrounding domestic violence. There is some basic facts and myths proven wrong. Most importantly, there are sticky notes on the wall under the poster where students are encouraged to take one and to write a positive message to support members of our community who have experienced domestic violence, and post it on the wall next to the poster.

Only students with medical permission from the nurse may use the school elevator. Thanks.

This week and next, Mr. Croft and Ms. Welch are looking for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have a free block during blocks 1, 3, 4, or 6 to assist students as they prepare for their Africa Rising Culmination.  If you are willing to share your own presentation and/or provide constructive feedback and support on students' papers, slideshows, and presentation performances, please see Mr. Croft or Ms. Welch ASAP.  Thank you!
