Happy New Year and Happy Intensives Week.

All our welcome to our next Parent Advisory Group Meeting, a week from today (January 9th  5:30-7pm). Our agenda will include a discussion with local experts on teen sexuality as well as agenda items such as Family Crew Night, the Math Cup and the Care Committee.

 Family Crew Night – January 19th

Our bi-annual (and 11th Winter) Family Crew Night will be Thursday, January 18th from 6:30-8:00pm –two weeks from next Thursday. The entire community is encouraged to come and eat dessert as well as celebrate the accomplishments of the first half of the year. Student work and talents will be on display throughout the night.  The event will be preceded by a college information night for students in grades 9-11 at 5:30pm. Students: Please bring a favorite dessert from your family's traditions or heritage for the dessert potluck. Dessert potluck starts at 6:30. The formal program will start at 6:45.

 Winter Intensives

  • Intensives will begin at 8:20.
  • Lunch at school will be served from 11am-11:30 each day.Bag lunches are usually delivered to school about 9:30..
  • Alumni Luncheon – We will have a pizza luncheon to thank our Alumni Teaching Fellows on Monday from 11:00-11:30 in Canada. Please alert any intensive “fellow” so s/he can join us for the fun.
  • Intensive To Do’s: Find a student to write a blurb for the newsletter by Monday 1/8. Alternatively find someone to document key moments through photos or student-created writings. Submit everything electronically to Ms. Kierstead
  • Have students complete thank you notes to experts, location hosts and consultants.
  • Plan how you will share your group's work with the larger community – at the Showcase Assembly, a future School Meeting and/or Family Crew Night (1/18)

Students Participating after-school panel for CBHS teachers on January 10th:  There will be a meeting with Ms. Haar during the first 10 minutes of Acad on Tuesday 1/9 to review details of how it will work.  

There is no Vocal ensemble or House Band this week.

Second Semester Courses at SMCC (including Intro to Acting and Psych at CBHS) start the week of January 15th. USM second semester courses begin the week of January 22nd.
