Thanks to everyone who came out or contributed to one of the many events last week to support our students: the Gelato Fiasco Fundraiser, the SAT breakfast, the Senior Financial Aid Night, the Sophomore Podcast premiere and the Junior Journey variety show. A special thanks to junior parents for getting everyone to the bus - and on time - at, yikes 3:15am. We appreciate your sacrifice!

Juniors, chaperones and staff have arrived safely in Detroit, and we are ready for service, documentary study and adventure. 

Congrats to the CBHS Cabinet and Civil Rights Team for being the recipients of the 2017 MEA Human Rights and Civil Rights Award “for their leadership of the Walk of Solidarity!”

Our request to have the “Greater Great Space” included in this year’s CIP will be voted on at this Tuesday’s School Board meeting at City Hall.

The Songwriting Intensive will have a concert of the participants’ original work at 317 Main Cafe (in Yarmouth) on Thursday 10-11:45am.

Thursday from 11:30-12:30:  the Pocket Park intensive students will presents their design ideas at City Hall.

Parents and friends are invited to the Intensives Showcase Assembly: Thursday, April 6th – 1:00-2:30 - in the Great Space.

Saturday – Junior Journey returns to CBHS between 9 and 10pm.

Support Casco Bay Quest by sponsoring a Crew's cardboard boat.  We are looking for local business to get involved at one of three levels of participation: donation, sponsorship or partnership.  Please contact Nancy Hagstrom (hagstn@portlandschools.org) or Stephanie Doyle (doyles@portlandschools.org) to have a small group of students pitch this idea to your business THIS WEEK.  

CLYNK Maine Recycles Championship - Just two weeks to go!
Casco Bay is currently in 3rd place, but we need your help to stay there and win the cash prize! Please drop off your full CLYNK bags by Monday, April 24th to have them counted in the contest tally and matched with a donation from Hannaford.

Our next PAG meeting will be Tuesday 4/25 at 5:30; it will focus on CBHS-parent communications, as well as a budget update, teacher appreciations, the Spring Plant sale and senior scholarships. All are welcome


Upcoming: Saturday, April 29th 5:45 p.m.-7:30 p.m.  Project Graduation Fundraiser for Class of 2017 Casco Bay High School.  Paint Nite Painting Event. You'll spend 1.5 hrs creating a one of a kind painting. Local artist Paul Cyr will guide you in creating your masterpiece. All supplies will be provided. Come and have some fun with friends and neighbors and support a Portland Public School.

$30 per person. (30% of pp. cost will go directly to the class of 2017). Event will be held in the cafeteria at DHS (located over the gymnasium). Please email Sarah Thompson at barneswingate@yahoo.com to reserve your spot. If you'd like to pay in advance to ensure a spot please let me know via email as well and I will provide you the address to mail . Hope you'll come and support this great cause.
